Eusebio Sempere is the reference artist of the MACA. It is for this reason that the tour of the Collection

Eusebio Sempere is one of the fundamental pillars of the museum's educational and mediation program.

This tour focuses on the Eusebio Sempere Collection and the kinetic works from the 20th Century Art Collection. We explore Sempere's life, his work, his artistic evolution, and the influences that shaped his unique style, marked by innovation and a deep connection with his surroundings.

Looking at a window in the art of Juana Francés is to ask oneself: What is behind it? What am I seeing? What do I not yet see? On the occasion of the temporary exhibition on Juana Francés, we approach her figurative period, prior to abstraction, through the symbolic analysis of one of the most powerful and constant visual motifs in her work: the window that acts as an emotional and conceptual thread throughout the journey

From a symbolic reading, the window becomes an ideal vehicle for connecting internal and external worlds, the intimate and the

collective, the artistic and the spiritual.

This journey allows us to reflect on the construction of identity, the relationship between physical space and emotional space, as well as the symbolic reading of the image of art.

Art does not only represent the world: it also questions and transforms it. This tour proposes looking at twentieth-century art from a critical perspective, analyzing how female stereotypes of its time were constructed and sometimes challenged. Through key works from the permanent collections such as those by Juana Francés, Eva Lootz, Soledad Sevilla, Carmen Calvo, for example, students will explore how the image of women was shaped by social, political and cultural discourses, and how many artists opened paths to break those molds.
The tour invites students to reflect on the representation of the body, the roles assigned to women and the absence or presence of creators in the official narratives of art. A tour to understand that art can be a powerful tool for thinking about society… and for changing it.

Informalism was one of the most influential currents in mid-twentieth century art. In this tour, students discover that artists such as Manolo Millares, Antoni Tàpies, Juana Francés, and Antonio Saura broke with traditional representation to create works where matter, texture, and gesture become the protagonists. The tour invites observation of how each artist uses matter to construct their own language. Texture becomes a way of narrating emotions, social tensions, or personal experiences without the need to represent recognizable objects.

Have you ever stopped to think about what someone feels when they seem very quiet? What do we feel when nothing is said? What can a calm gaze hide? How many different ways are there to express an emotion? During the visit to the temporary exhibition on Juana Francés we will explore works with still figures, simple scenes and thoughtful faces, where the most important thing is not what happens, but what is felt. With the help of observation games, open questions and creative dynamics we will learn that emotions can also be in silence, in a gentle gesture, in an everyday object or in a gaze that says nothing, but suggests everything. This tour will be an artistic and emotional experience, where you can connect with the works from your own inner world, understanding that art doesn't always speak out loud… sometimes

it whispers very important things.

This tour proposes exploring how landscape ceased to be a simple representation of nature to become a space for visual research. Through works by Fernando Zóbel, Gustavo Toner, Eusebio Sempere, Soledad Sevilla, and José María Yturralde, students discover how light, color, geometry, and perception transform our way of looking at the environment.

How do we see ourselves reflected in art? What does a portrait tell us about who we are? The portrait has been, throughout history, one of the most powerful ways to capture the essence of the human being.
In this journey, we invite primary school students to reflect on the image of the human being in art and how artists use new plastic languages to represent and transform the human figure. We seek to deepen the connection between art, the body and identity, using works by renowned artists such as Pablo Gargallo, Julio González, Antonio Saura, and explore how personal and collective identity is reflected in art; the body in art is not just an object, but a means to express ideas.

The avant-gardes of the twentieth century changed forever the way we look at the world. In this journey, students will discover artists such as Joan Miró, Pablo Gargallo, Julio González, and Juan Gris who transformed reality into new languages, full of subjectivity, experimentation, and creative freedom.
Through their works, we explore how these creators broke with traditional norms to invent new ways of representing space, the body, and objects. Color became emotion, the line became gesture, and matter began to speak for itself.

This tour presents the museum through play and the activation of the senses. It is a first introduction to a museum that could answer the questions of what a museum is and what it is for. Through play and manipulation, we visit a selection of works from the different collections of the museum that help us work on different concepts such as color, movement, geometric shapes, or any other notion. Children will explore the works of the Maca, interacting with pieces by artists such as Joan Miró, Pablo Gargallo, and Eusebio Sempere.

We propose different tours through the MACA's permanent collections aimed at the school community from their first steps in Early Childhood Education through the end of the cycle in Secondary Education or High School.

Each tour is tailored to current educational needs, adapting them to the MACA's permanent collections and establishing deep connections between artists, movements and trends, contributing to the cultural enrichment of the community. All tours are accompanied by an activity that complements what has been seen during the visit.
