Glupost Baloona. Scenic display of the No More Boring Artists program

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on
Museum Day 2025

Scenic exhibition resulting from the youth laboratory of the No More Boring Artists program. A theatrical proposal where the circus becomes a metaphor for resistance and community. Collective creation. Young protagonists. Pure emotion.

"What more can be lost when nothing is left? That is the question asked by the circus members when the great tragedy occurs. Determined to change the course of this story told with humor and sarcasm, they will make us reflect on how solidarity, teamwork, and the magic that surrounds a spectacle can break the cycle of slavery and poverty at the expense of a few. Or at least that's what they thought."

About the project:

The exhibition is the result of the scenic laboratory conducted during the first months of 2025 at the MACA. A collective project that combines object theater, contemporary creation, and social reflection through live arts, and is part of the "No More Boring Artists" program, a youth scenic reference since 2021.

The Calidesa

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on

Author: Marta Barceló

Company: Coma 14 teatro

La Calidesa presents us with six stories about loneliness and friendship. Six situations of silence and deserted landscapes, characters lost in places of unwanted life to which the presence and companionship of another person have shed some light under which they can continue.

These six capsules will open us to everyday realities, in a society in which the everyday already encompasses the entire world: emigration, the aging of the world population, international mobility, the consumer society model, the commodification of being, etc. The initially proposed themes speak of immigrant caregivers whom distance prevents from being able to care for their children, the loneliness of night truck drivers, friendships that last a lifetime, applications for renting company/commodification of friendship, or unaccompanied immigrant minors, among others.

Loneliness is silent and advances slowly, sometimes we don't even notice it, but it goes on conquering spaces and, by the time we become aware of it, the damage is already deep and structural. LA CALIDESA is a call for care, an alert launched to our lives so that we return to conquering shared spaces and shed light on possible loneliness of our own or others', so that we value and strengthen friendship.

Federico's Recreational Activities by Álex Peña

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on
Sample of Contemporary Authors Theater from Alicante

Activity included in the Contemporary Authors Theater Exhibition of Alicante, Guillermo Heras.

Recreativos Federico is an installation composed of seven arcade machines customized around a dramatic work by Federico García Lorca or its context. In this EXO-dramatic installation, Alicante-based actor, performer and cultural agitator Álex Peña uses humor and poetry to reflect on the commodification of artistic legacy in the context of the capitalist system.

Guided tour by Álex Peña: November 9 (from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM) Free admission until capacity is reached.

We are accustomed to converting historical figures into consumer objects. Any of us can buy in Granada a keychain with the inscription I Love Lorca without ever having read a single verse by the author of "Gypsy Ballads". The EXO-dramatic installation proposed by Álex Peña at the MACA aims to criticize with humor and very subtle irony the conversion of artistic legacy into banal souvenirs.

The installation consists of seven interactive arcade machines equipped with sensors that perceive human presence. They react with sounds and lights, proposing games or the sale of some product, always inspired by the Lorca universe. "Bernarda Alba's Crane" is a mechanical skill game in which the player can obtain Adela's Comb, Pepe el Romano's original perfume or Bernarda's Fan; "Blood Balls" is a surprise ball machine that randomly contains a bag of blood from the Bridegroom or Leonardo, the lover in the well-known dramatic work "Blood Wedding"; the machine named "The Hatless Women" is inspired by the women artists of the Generation of '27 who removed this fashion accessory as a sign of protest and were stoned for it along with Dalí and Federico at the Puerta del Sol. In the foosball table inspired by "The Love of Don Perlimplín with Belisa in His Garden" we can face the characters from the work published by Lorca in 1929; "Yerma, La Nuit" is a phallic condom vending machine that alludes to the condom that a liberated Yerma could well have hidden while enjoying the Parisian night, while "Cadaqués Invaders" is an arcade machine with an original shooting game based on the famous "Space Invaders" in which the player Lorca shoots La Argentinita's castanets against a Dalí who responds by launching his mustache against the Granadian poet. Finally, "So Five Euros Pass" is a machine that exchanges coins for bills. Here, Federico himself represents that arcade owner of all time who would grumble while feeding the stuffing of his mattress of bills.

All installations are accompanied by a soundtrack featuring collaborations from different contemporary independent artists and groups such as Rocío Márquez, Pablo Peña and Darío del Moral (Pony Bravo, Fiera); Daniel Alonso (Pony Bravo), Alicia Acuña, The Gardener/Stay P MSRT (Califato ¾), Los Voluble and Yunke Junk Preachers. Additionally, the "Blood Balls" machine features the original voice of one of the poet's descendants, Laura García-Lorca.
