Red-haired Characters in Stories

Laboratory of Letters and Images. January 2022

This is a reading promotion activity through art and play, which we carry out in the MACA Library in Alicante, led by María Maraña and Va de cuentos. This year we dedicated our letter and image laboratories to mythical characters and some rather curious ones from stories, and that's why we couldn't miss the opportunity to focus on redheads. Yes, yes, you heard right. And it's striking how many characters with orange hair appear in stories. Have you ever noticed?

Think back, or review your library and you're sure to find more than one.

I cook it myself, I eat it myself II

But, what is this course about?

Has it ever happened to you that you were going to cook your favorite dish and just before you start you realize you're missing an ingredient? It happens to me constantly. And, what do you do?

a) I change the recipe. I refuse to do culinary experiments and end up without eating.

b) I go into crisis mode and decide to eat out.

c) I look at what I have in the fridge and improvise.

Whatever your answer is, don't worry, we've all been through all three.

Discovery, frustration and illumination. They are part of the phases of the creative process.

And now, transfer this experience to the art classroom. When you think you have everything under control, some material doesn't show up, the internet fails, classes are online...

Offering new alternatives is not easy, but it is possible. It's a matter of practice, observation and experimentation. Do you dare? I will help you guide the Plastic Arts area in a creative way, developing materials and personalized proposals for each school,

from an inclusive and cross-curricular perspective.

Contents

U0-Appetizers: Presentation and introduction. EPVA, what is and what is not Art Education? Survey. Resource platforms.

U1-Starters: The sky is not always blue. Teacher self-reflection on artistic practice.

U2-First course: The blessed curriculum. Our opportunity to create our own materials. Adaptation to the context of each school (materials and personnel).

U3-Second course: Interdisciplinarity. Projects with other areas.

U4-Dessert: the hidden curriculum. The other History of Art.

Reminiscences. Art and Culture Against Alzheimer's, 2021

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on

«A basic necessity is a product or service that is considered essential for people's survival.»

Well yes, in these complicated times, we have heard or read this expression a lot: 'basic necessity'. For us, that is what the Reminiscences project is. Art and Culture against Alzheimer's. And, in this year 2021, it is more necessary than ever. You are more necessary than ever!

Our hope, one more year, is tremendous. Even greater if possible, because this kind of 'relationships' improves with the years. We are very excited to resume activities, with all the pertinent health measures, and without losing even a hint of desire and drive. We will do everything possible and unimaginable to reinvent ourselves and offer our artists sessions that excite and move them.

That is why we have decided to continue bringing the MACA collections to people with Alzheimer's from AFA Alicante in video format and thus, evoke personal experiences and distant memories through art and its artists.
