Susana Guerrero began her career in the mid-1990s, with sculpture, ceramics, and graphic art as her main artistic mediums. The themes she has explored connect with memory, the subconscious, the magical, the dream world, and the relationship with nature, revisiting narratives borrowed from mythology and the sacred, as well as from her own life experience. To explore the tactile and sensorial, Susana Guerrero has used a wide variety of materials, sometimes taken directly from nature, such as agave, thorns, shells, and palm leaves, and other times manufactured materials, such as electrical cables (in her recent works) and rubber. Susana lives with a White Lion, an animal that protects and cares for her, a recurring protagonist in her creative universe, presented here with a refined control of neofigurative language in a symbolic key.
