Eusebio Sempere, artist from Alicante, born in Onil. His artistic trajectory is based on the search for light, movement and geometry. He is the host artist of the museum since thanks to his legacy the museum of La Asegurada was created, today MACA.

We turn Eusebio Sempere into a paradigm of the traveling artist. Throughout his trajectory he moves to cities that have become art centers while he trains as an artist. With his suitcase we travel with him through his life and the main characteristics of his works.

Stamping the oval. (Workshop)

In this workshop a stamping work is carried out using geometric shapes smaller than those that will allow creating a larger composition from different stages.

The objective is to work on the notion of space and movement through the creation of a geometric composition.

Screen printing*. (Workshop)

Sempere learned this technique in Wifredo Arcay's workshop in Paris and was the introducer of artistic screen printing in Spain. It is a workshop specialized in this stamping technique where they will learn the different possibilities of carrying it out.

*Tuesdays from 10 to 12 a.m. A group of 25 students. Exclusively for 2nd cycle ESO and High School.

With this itinerary, visitors get to know the museum's works and the history of 20th-century art through its main figures: Montserrat, Kiki of Montparnasse, Brigitte Bardot... Through this tour, students will be able to learn and discover artistic creation and the historical contexts in which these pieces were created throughout the 20th century.

In the 19th century there were about a thousand female plastic artists in Spain, and until the third decade of the 20th century (beginning of the Civil War), 18% of the works exhibited in national exhibitions were by women. Currently, female students of Fine Arts exceed 70%. Despite this, recognition is minimal. The objective of this itinerary is to promote and give visibility to the artists in our collections.

The representation of reality is related to numerous artistic and aesthetic trends. We see it in the representation of everyday life, or in pop art, which uses popular images or in works of social and political commitment that represent the surrounding reality

The activity that has been prepared for this itinerary aims to strengthen knowledge related to the realities depicted in works from different collections to represent a new vision of these through the technique of exquisite corpse*.

* A word game invented by surrealist artists through which ways are created to draw out many more images from a single image.

This itinerary aims to show how twentieth-century artists incorporate all kinds of objects and materials foreign to the work of art in their creations and how they work with gesturality as a way to transmit sensations, feelings, and different effects. In the workshop that accompanies this tour, the use of textures in art is explored and how gesture impacts and helps communicate.

This tour proposes a Workshop Visit | Mediation in order to approach and convey knowledge about kinetic art and the way of creating based on the movement of the elements that make up the work or that are arranged in the space of sculptural works and

paintings. Through activities based on the movement of geometric forms, students will be able to discover the importance of using simple elements of light, movement and viewer to achieve surprising effects.

We address how artists interpret transformation processes in natural and urban environments, exploring artistic practices and innovative techniques.

Sempere's Suitcase is an educational resource for classroom work in which we transform our artist Eusebio Sempere into the prototype of a traveling artist, offering students the opportunity to discover his vital, creative and artistic trajectory through the cities he visits, the artists he meets and the artistic trends he gets to know.

How do we do it? We have prepared a box in which you will find information about the artist, his artistic context and his work, games and playful and sensory materials to get to know Sempere through the manipulation of structures and volumes and cross-curricular proposals. The content is complemented by a series of activities inspired by his works and creative processes.
