Witches, ogres and skeletons. Characters that are scary (or not)

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on
Laboratories of letters and images. October 2020

On the night of October 31st, the doors of the afterlife open so that all those terrifying stories that make us laugh and scare us to death reach us. This month of October we dedicate to all those characters who prepare potions, eat grandmothers, and cook children. Terrifying tales that we like to read on the night of the dead.

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on
Laboratories of letters and images. September 2020

Uncertainty, curiosity, thought. To wander and answer a question with another question in order to build a thought, your own thought.

In this laboratory we will approach the great philosophical questions with the help of different specialized materials, which make use of images and stories to position children as thought provocateurs.

Twisted Words. Visual Poetry, Calligrams and Other Beings

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on
Laboratories of Letters and Images. January 2020

It's not just what is written that matters, but also how it is written. The use of typography, color or its absence, the layout on the page or the combination with an image. These elements, among others, give written words nuances or even new meanings. Form communicates.

In this workshop we will play with the shape of letters, the arrangement of words and their interaction with images to create our own meanings.

Count without words

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on
Laboratory of Letters and Images. December 2019

Among illustrated albums there is a genre sometimes forgotten: the wordless picture book. These

stories help awaken our imagination, require us to sharpen our

observation skills and therefore promote visual education. They also give

autonomy to the child who cannot read or is in the process of learning.

In this session we will observe these stories without text to read their images and provide

our own interpretation.

*Some stories proposed for this session: The Magic Lantern, Free Time,

Aquarium, The Wave, Crazy World, The Red Herring...

A river of words. The metaphor

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on
Laboratories of letters and images. October 2019

Both in art and in our everyday life we use metaphors. We say: "He's missing a

screw!", "He is a well of wisdom", "They are like two drops of water", .. We mix reality and

fantasy generating a rich and poetic language. Stories are no less, and in many of

them metaphor is used to explain concepts or ideas such as death, love, lack of

communication, hope, …

In this session we will see what metaphor is about through stories, images and games.

*Some stories proposed for this session: A Pink Elephant, The Tree of

Memories, When Laughter Bloomed, ...

Laboratory of Letters and Images. September 2019

Technical freedom allows us to discover and experiment how different

materials coexist: collage, painting, watercolor, markers, engraving...Each one with its qualities,

coexisting in the same space, like people and life itself.

In this session we will relate mixed media technique with diversity and inclusion.

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on
Laboratory of Letters and Images. May 2019

In the illustrated album we see different

resources to represent it, through the illustrations but also through the narrative

of the book's own format, the design of its pages, the interaction it offers us, etc.

In this session we will capture our best movements on paper.

Tales Inside Out. Classic Tales Reimagined

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on
Tales Inside Out. Classic Tales Reimagined

In recent years, a wide variety of revised classic tales have been published that

tell these stories from another point of view, placing us in a more

contemporary setting, telling us the unknown version of the fierce wolf, demystifying romantic

love or taking princes and princesses out of their gender role.

In this session, we will see these tales framed in co-education, equality and

diversity and we will write another tale.

*Some tales proposed for this session: The End, I'm Going to Eat You, Is There Anything

More Boring Than Being a Pink Princess?, Confusing Stories, What Little Red Riding Hood Didn't See,

The Rebel Princess, ...
