William Cordova is a multidisciplinary artist -painting, collage, video, installation, sculpture- who draws from such diverse references as Peruvian culture or contemporary music, in works open to multiple readings that navigate a complex network of meanings. In his work Cordova explores themes of cultural and social identity, as well as the transformation and interpretation of images in the current transcultural context. Cordova is equally interested in concepts linked to the ephemeral and transitory, and how objects and our perception of them change in time and space. For his work "Echo me echo me" Cordova uses modest materials -two stones and wire- to construct a kind of obsolete and archaic headphones of given influence. This piece describes the artist's effort to make art that doesn't seem like art, forcing us to reflect on the notion we have of it.
