The titles of Pablo Bellot's first solo exhibitions—Catharsis, Imbalance, Self-Denial, or Mini Selves—already give us a clue about the obsessions that circulate throughout his work, both early and more recent. Bellot makes use of different media such as drawing, painting, video, performance, and sculpture to constantly return to themes related to the difficulties of communication, violence, the insignificance of existence, conflicts between good and evil, and the futility of action (perhaps also of artistic action), employing a color palette reduced to black and white to emphasize the dose of absurdity and dark humor with which he addresses these themes.
