Amy Sillman, whose practice includes painting, drawing, iPhone video and zines, has contributed significantly to the renewal of current abstract painting, without completely abandoning moments and strokes close to figuration. Her working process has an analytical component, based on the idea that painting is a physical form of thinking and reflecting, which Sillman combines with elements of a dreamlike nature, personal references and a certain dose of humor. At the same time, her work is an investigation of the plastic possibilities of painting and drawing, which the artist pursues through "radical changes in the color palette, scale, brushstroke and structure of the works," according to the words of curator Helen Molesworth. Six works by Sillman spanning the different media in which she works are part of the collection.
