Filmmaker, video artist and photographer. After completing his degree in Image and Sound and training as a fellow at TVE and SER, he develops a multifaceted creative work that he combines with his activity as a video and television director.
Since the mid-nineties, his work focuses on the human being, the much-discussed problem of identity, using the male nude as a medium. The series to which these photographs belong, titled El Monte Perdido, represents for him a return to his childhood, to his origins. From this perspective it represents a logical derivation in the search for one's own identity, but this time resorting to natural and constructed spaces, to precise elements of them tremendously charged with autobiographical experiences.
Through a kaleidoscopic montage of similar fragments, Codesal presents different metaphorical series in which his own life is identified with nature, with history as part of a time whose human end is none other than death.
