[Valldosera, Eulalia]
For more than a decade, Eulalia Valldosera has created a series of works, generally installations and performances carried out in the most diverse locations using a wide variety of techniques. Since her prolonged stay in the Netherlands in the early nineties, Valldosera has oriented her aesthetic project in a well-defined direction, defining the materials and technique that have ultimately shaped her personal intervention in the language of contemporary sculpture. Her initial experiences with painting and drawing have led her to action art, installation, and photography.
From that point on, the use of projected images has generated a strong presence of movement, integrated as a temporal condition in her three-dimensional work.
Valldosera's poetics reveal the intensity of an artistic proposal based on the intense and dramatic conjunction of visual contemplation and theatrical narrative. Precisely in the dramatic realm is where Valldosera distances herself from the sculptural tradition of recent decades: beyond the experience of space and the materials that occupy it, her work is like an elliptical narration that becomes permanent and cyclical in its endless account.
Starting from the inner self toward the encounter with the other and the progression of relationships with and between objects of identity and anonymity, Valldosera weaves her web that takes us from the phantasmagoric and shadow to the hard and clear nucleus of the reality that surrounds us.
