The MACA proposes "Inadvertent Architecture". Encounters between the DKV Seguros Collection and the Caja Mediterráneo Collection

The exhibition, which can be seen until September 8th, is made up of a carefully selected collection of works belonging to DKV Seguros and the Caja Mediterráneo Collection.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Miguel Valor, Deputy Mayor of Culture and the Chief Executive Officer of DKV Seguros, Josep Santacreu, the advisor of the DKV Arteria Project and co-curator Alicia Ventura, the director of the DKV branch in Alicante and Rosa Mª Castells, curator of the MACA and also curator of the exhibition.
As a result of the extraordinary relationships fostered by the Alicante City Council with companies that have committed unreservedly to art and collecting, this exhibition emerges, bringing together important pieces from two of the most interesting contemporary art collections in this country. The exhibition provides a vision of the diversity of aesthetic languages in the artistic landscape and allows for a contrast between two collections that differ from each other in the nature of their ownership, their selection criteria and their geographic and temporal scope, but with evident connections between them.

Artists such as Jose Mª Ballester, Bleda and Rosa, Hannah Collins, Dionisio González, Gonzalo Puch, Jaime de la Jara, Santiago Sierra or Valentín Vallhonrat reconstruct spaces traversed by weightlessness, light or color, with Carlos Irijalba, Ignacio Llamas, Ana Malagrida, Martín Freire, Rebeca Menéndez, Natalia Pastor, Aleix Plademunt, Pamen Pereira or Cecilia del Val.
Inadvertent Architecture. Encounters between the DKV Seguros Collection and the Caja Mediterráneo Collection arises from the interaction of works and artists around a discovery: the poetics of an inadvertent yet present architecture, formally responsible for creating literary spaces as isolated scenes from a dream. Unveiled mysteries where a column, a tree, a door, a spotlight, a hallway, a staircase... help discover the setting of a very personal aesthetic reality. Inquiring into what we habitually do not see, deliberately blurred atmospheres, symbolic and monumental spaces but also lived spaces that sometimes evoke a forgotten past, a memory that brings the trace that remains alive.
